Hurry, there is not much time. You must get thee to the FREE Mr. Brainwash Art Show before it closes. You have until Thursday at 7:00. Go at 4:00, if you can, when golden light will be pouring in the broken and spray painted windows. I stole away from work for an hour today to see the four stories of wall to wall to floor to ceiling art in an old factory building on La Brea Blvd (I have always wanted to see inside!). Here are a few of my photos. I barely scratched the surface. Mr. Brainwash splashes a loving message of hope and humor on broken furniture, recycled tires, upended cars. Don’t forget to look up, at the chickens, escaped from Colonel Sanders, or down, at messages on the floor.

honestly…isn’t it just banksy meets warhol? just sayin’….
Well, now we know how you feel about it
I am curious, did you go and have this reaction? I don’t care about his story or reputation. I don’t think the intention is to be deep or groundbreaking, but to fill a giant multi-level space with art. Sure, that art references Banksy and Warhol, Star Wars and Mr. Potato Head. I enjoy art that playfully responds to other work and pop culture, and I think street art is an ideal place for that to happen. I thought the whole thing was fun. I have always wanted to go inside that building, and I love that when I finally get the chance, every surface has been painted, most with messages of love and positivity.
love this! do you have any recommendations on where to park? or where the best parking is?
You can park at a meter on La Brea until 4:00. I found street parking around the corner on Sycamore. I think you can park free on Romaine or Willoughby. If you don’t mind a short walk, you’ll find something nearby. I suppose one could also park underground at Target, which is kitty-corner to the show. Enjoy!
I like this very much! Bright colours, interesting combinations and inspiring messages.
