Families made camp at picnic tables and on colorful blankets, hibachi grills sending aromatic smoke into the air to mingle with the laughter and shouting of children. Fathers Day in a small park in Silverlake was wholesome and lively. I wish I could have spent the day with my dad (Love you, Dad!), but I got to celebrate with great friends who are new fathers. The fact that my brother’s first child is due any moment made the day all the more special.
