Sometimes a candle atop dessert and a tune sung off-key is all it takes to celebrate the passing of another year. Not this year. I was treated by friends and family to three weeks in the spotlight: travel, dancing, concerts, dinners, so much love. By my actual birthday, I was worn out. All I wished for was a quiet meal in the garden. The lovely and talented Lauren Bair, blogger extraordinaire, has gifted me a few more moments of birthday spotlight by writing about it here.
