Southern Chocolate Chip Pound Cake
Recipe:
3 Cups of Sugar (Divided into 2 Cups and 1 cup)
2 Sticks of Butter = 1 Cup (Melted)
4 Large Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla Extract or Pure Vanilla
1 1/2 tsp Almond Extract (really adds so much flavor)
2 Cup of Flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp of Baking Powder
1-2 Cups of Chocolate Chips (Small ones)
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar very well. Add eggs one at a time beating very well after each egg until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla and almond extract. Combine flour, salt and baking powder then add to creamed mixture.
Grease the pan with cooking spray very well and 1 cup of sugar to the pan while swirling back and forth so that the sugar is coatiing all sides, bottom and middle.
Pour the batter into the pan and bake for at 350 for about 45 – 55 minutes (depends on your oven) check it around 45 minute mark.
Check the cake with a toothpick to see if middle is still mushy, if so, make another few minutes. DO NOT OVERCOOK or it will be very dry.
Remove from oven and let sit for about 45 minutes. Remove from pan, cut and eat.
Enjoy!
