WHAT IS THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET?
Supported by the Mayo Clinic, the Mediterranean diet is a way of eating based on the traditional cuisine of countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. While there is no single definition of the Mediterranean diet, it is typically high in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nut and seeds, and olive oil.
The main components of Mediterranean diet include:
-Daily consumption of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and healthy fats
-Weekly intake of fish, poultry, beans and eggs
-Moderate portions of dairy products
-Limited intake of red meat
Other important elements of the Mediterranean diet are sharing meals with family and friends, enjoying a glass of red wine and being physically active. Coronary heart disease caused fewer deaths in Mediterranean countries, such as Greece and Italy, than in the U.S. and northern Europe. Subsequent studies found that the Mediterranean diet is associated with reduced risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The Mediterranean diet is one of the healthy eating plans recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans to promote health and prevent chronic disease.

Too many processed foods here. Not good for anyone with hypertention but if not go for it.
You have a lot of heathy food here, awesome ! I am starting to look into the Mediterranean way of eating and wanting to lose some weight. I do see there is a lot of sugar and possibly preservatives in some of the bottled and packaged food that you have bought here so I would question those things overall. Do you eat Mediterranean personally to lose weight or just to be healthier?

I noted on your grocery haul that you had quite a few packaged foods . 90% of these foods are loaded with chemicals What good are the benefits of a mediterranean diet .if you load up your body with disruptive bad bad chemicals MAKES NO SENSE
For women who may not be aware, dairy products have been linked to breast cancer. I’m at risk, so I substitute with almond and coconut yogurts and milks.
