What happens when identical twins eat two completely different diets? Hugo and Ross Turner wanted to know. For 12 weeks, Hugo went vegan while Ross continued eating meat and dairy. What happened during that time was amazing!
They join “The Weight Loss Champion” Chuck Carroll to talk about how their experiences differed. One lost more weight, one gained more energy, one lowered his cholesterol, and that’s just the start!
why not vegan anymore

“Have that spike of sugar” – so not exactly a keto : carnivore diet versus a vegan diet experiment.
High GI foods spike your blood sugar. You don’t get that on keto / carnivore. And if you eat a healthy vegan diet you don’t get that either.
Both diets can work if done properly. It’s fairly simple: don’t eat sugar, processed carbs or trans fats. And you will feel great.
You didn't gain 9 pounds of muscle on any diet idc what you say lol, maybe the TRT diet
this is amazing everyone, I used Dr ALUDA herbal medication for one month and my herpes virus and HPV were gone, I went for check up 3 days ago and my Dr said am negative.. Dr ALUDA is on YouTube..
useless vid
Carnivore diet, but eating a lot of processed carbs still. Did he eat organ meats? Oxtail? Did he continue to eat fruits? I felt great doing vegan for the first few months but inevitably declined after time, losing muscle mass, energy, and lower thyroid function, and digestive issues. I inevitably had to supplement my diet in order to get the nutrients I needed. Eventually switched back to a modified omnivore diet free of inflammatory vegetable oils and grains. I include organ meats and Oxtail in my diet. I feel great and my hormone function is much improved.
The vegan looks more youthful looking. Just look at it
i knew right away green shirt was the vegan one lmaoo
Ross was eating biscuits???? WTF. This experiment right there is void. Of course the vegan diet is better compared to meat, fats, and carbs = SAD, your energy levels will be terrible.
What a badly designed experiment, interview, and waste of time watching this. I had to watch 9 minutes to discover that the guy allegedly eating a "meat based diet" reports as an interesting observation that snacking a lot of cookies and chocolate made him feel tired. That's exactly what vegans do (live off mostly carbs and sugars) while people on animal diets, paleo, keto, etc… (not to mention carnivore) absolutely don't. I think they were just afraid of exposing reality, which is that low carb animal diets provide great health benefits and weight loss while vegan diets just provide malnourishment and even weight gain, as rice, potatoes, pasta… and all kind of vegan cakes and sweets are "allowed".
horrible conclusion and excuses not to go 100% plant-based, all just excuses "oh can't do it on expeditions"… i guess if you don't have a brain and don't know how to plan ahead and prep, then sure.
@13:40 compare and take the best bits of both… there are no best bits of a non-plant-based diet (they call it "vegan diet", which is misleading and causes so much confusion). and later on "can't do vegan on expedition, there are no vegan options" – sure it's possible, it's called prepping, planning ahead. excuses, excuses, from the meat- and processed-garbage obsessed guy.
Veganism malnourishes and kills. Animal based is the way.
This is fascinating. Could you guys post your blood tests and the comparisons? What would you combine from each of the two diets? Thank you so much! Marla in Chicago <3
malnourishment, stop spreading placebo propaganda
12 weeks are by far not long enough to document the undersupply, that is evident in long-term vegans. low testosterone, low libido, low sperm count, severe weight loss or obesity, nervous disorders, premature aging. that's the trap, first the health markers improve, you feel great. but after a longer while it goes in the other direction again. and the downward spiral begins. and btw, vegans are on more synthetic pills than any other human, wich they call supplements.
Real life Tin Tin and his double. Love them! You guys are amazing
Eat whale or go hungry? Hmm.. Or bring supplies, perhaps? I'll assume you guys didn't walk out there to meet these inuits.
Please stop saying vegan when you mean plant based. The distinction matters.
that is very confusing. you say that meat is more up and down sugar levels. how can that be when meat has NO sugar, whereas vegan forces a diet of sugar sugar and more sugar or complex (sugar) carbs. isn't that a direct contradiction ??? yes a vegan can try to stay away from carbs and simple sugars but the choices are light on proteins, few saturated fats which leaves mucho carbs and simple sugars. meat on the other hand is even energy without the ups and downs of insulin response. seriously ,someone explain to me how meat can raise blood sugar levels when its only protein and fat !! ZERO carbs
it makes me very leary of trusting these two dudes.
Comparing a vegan diet to a high carb and sugar diet with some meat is not a good comparison. Also there needs to be a study of the vegan diet after 5 years when your body has very likely run out of fat stores to pull from. How many supplements does one have to take? How many unexplained illness appear due to deficiency, if any? Is there any bone loss and/or muscle loss due to deficiency? And how much does a person benefit from being vegan vs vegetarian?
What a load of pucky!! Sugar is plant.. there is no sugar on a meat based diet. Of course he was going to have ups and downs and cravings.. next time do it right, guys!
if you ate all the breads and cookies, you might as well go meat diet more healthier
Both good looking but got to say vegan twin looks healthier and younger, no dark circles under eyes and complexion looks amazing.
9:30 This contradicts what I hear from people on keto, Am largely plant based and I can go a long time without eating meat but my energy goes down after a meal. And this is what a lot of people on high carbohydrate diet.
12:07 The interviewer was kind of biased 😂 in that he wanted to brush over the fact that Hugo did not gain any muscle while his brother gained a lot of muscle. He quickly change the topic to finding some benefit in recovery so people can forget the previous comment😂. You can even see how quickly he was trying to figure out what to say. I think the point of an experiment is to find the truth, there is always going to be advantages and disadvantages.
I can always spot a vegan….it is the sunken eyes
I know many Adventist Vegans. When I came across a community of Them I became a believer in Vegan eating. They look much younger and are much Healthier at their ripe old age then any meat eaters that I know.I know 80 plus year olds that out work 40 year olds and look at least 20 years younger.I know 60 year old Vegans that have no wrinkles on their face.Since I went vegan I have way more energy. My body is definitely more clean than when I ate meat.
Everybody is different, with different nutritional needs. We tried healthy vegan once for about six months and my wife's energy took a nose dive. She literally cannot function on that diet.
You don't need a twin to compare a vegan and non-vegan diet. Just get ur bloodwork done, go vegan for 6 months, then get it done again. In fact, twins results are not as accurate, because they're 2 different people with 2 different habits. Genetics isn't the only deciding factor.
This was great info. Thanks. I'd like t A+ and my brother is O. We are both on a 30 day carnivore diet. He is doing well on a carnivore diet and enjoying his food where as I am tired and don't sleep at night.
Can blood type make a difference to whether we should eat carnivore, keto, or vegan. I'd really appreciate some guidance as there is so much info and its confusing.
After being vegan now for almost eleven years, I take the even energy levels for granted so I kind of forget about it but I do remember the highs and lows back when I ate meat and other animal products. Going vegan has been the best choice by far.
A three year comparison would be much more interesting and accurate! No supplements, all nutrients coming from real food, and tell me which one thrives. There is a reason so many ‘fail’ on a vegan diet. Embrace the circle of life. Humans are meant to be omnivores. I tried veganism, I felt great at the three month mark. Give it time, you will have no energy, get sick more often, lose hair, and then the heart palpitations start. Don’t risk your health for a trendy diet!!
Plant based meats are full of estrogen. Good for boob enlargement.
It's strange that the twin on meat was still eating biscuits (cookies) and talked about a sugar high and then crash. If they were testing for divergent health diets, why was he still consuming sugar?
Not enough information to take this seriously.
This was dumb. You should do an actual experiment with a person 100% carnivore vs 100% vegan. Blood panels are a must. Like actually show the results! Also people that are older not 20 something lmao – everything is easy when you are in your 20's and 30's.
Useless if they dont show the data. Would be really interesting if done correctly.
Identical twins: One goes vegan, the other continues to eat Twinkies and pizza. Conclusion: meat is dangerous!
One is balding and both have kidney issues
You can easily tell which is vegan and which eats dead bodies but how they look. Stinky meat ages you quick because the body isn't meant to process it, and it's hard on the body.
What a way to give your life for a cause: dying prematurely by eating meat for the sake of science. Hats off to the twin who ate meat.
If you notice, they mention "the game changers" during the beginning of this. It's a great Netflix documentary I'd recommend to anyone about vegan athletes. Definitely mind blowing.
Am glad to share this to everyone here on how my son was also cure from this with the help of #Drehimare on YouTube
Lost 22 pounds on a seafood and plants diet I feel wonderful I’m never going straight vegan
To the people in the comments with their stories:
Don't confuse junk food and canned soda's for being carnivorous
