Whenever I fix my cornbread I put a little oil in my cast iron skillet and while the skillet is hot, I then sprinkle cornmeal in the bottom then before the cornmeal burns, I pour my cornbread in the skillet and place it in the oven! I always remove it from the skillet after I take it out! That way it always stays crunchy!! Thank you, NORMA COLLINS FROM TEXAS
Growing up I loved black pepper on everything, my Mama and Daddy did not. So, I just peppered everything at the table. I can't have pepper now because it is a MAJOR acid reflux trigger๐
Oh yea, I am a southerner. There is nothing like pinto beans, cabbage and cornbread. We always called it cleaning our beans when you call it looking. Have a great. Love your show.
Where do you find loose beans like that ? Not in our grocery stores…..I never did see them at Walmart or Kroger…..and we have 2 other supermarkets here and they do not have them either…. Been to some Farmer Mkts. too, never saw them there either….or not at any Amish stores either….., there is really only one brand that I prefer and they are hard to find but can find them on Amazon…..
My Mother always put sugar in her cabbage, makes it tasty. My Grandma put just a little sugar and a pinch of soda, when she used sour milk or buttermilk. I enjoy your videos so much, always makes me smile!!! You're so pleasant!! God bless you
This video popped up in my suggested box – so glad it did!! This is one of my favorite meals. And yes, I fry potatoes (home fries not french fries) to go with. And no sugar in my corn bread either. Although I like it that way. My grandmother used to make cornbread and biscuits for supper every day. She put sugar in her cornbread. She and my grandpa called it a 'cake' of cornbread. They ate biscuits with their meal, then had cornbread with butter and honey (or syrup or whatever they had) with their coffee after dinner kind of like a dessert. Nobody at my house now (husband, two teenagers, sometimes my parents) don't like cornbread to be sweet- so I make it the way they like it. Thanks (belated I guess since this is from 2018) for a wonderful video. Melody B in NC

Try sprouting your dried beans soak them for 48 + hours. This will make the beans more digestible.
Why didn't you show the food you made today and do taste testing…..video just cut off…..!!!!!

Lucky Lucky Pastor Bryant!
NO IT DON'T TAKE THE GAS OUT.. SOAKING THEM IN WATER HELPS THEM COOK FASTER…
My mother put sugar on the cabbage she cooked. That is how she got me to eat it. Sometimes she would put some onion in her cooked cabbage.
