This is great! I rarely think about calories unless I’m trying to lose weight but I should think more about it to maintain the weight that I have. Instead on eating too much then having to lose weight.
I used to count calories but since I started to, I gained weight. But after watching this quite healthy video I decided to try again😂
A trick I like to do with salad dressing is have it to the side. I dip my fork into the dressing then into the salad. Every bite has the taste of the dressing but I consume very little of the dressing, maybe a teaspoon worth.
I was literally mindlessly munching on almonds out here 😬

Another useful tip I think is worth saying from my own experience is to prioritise low calorie, nutrient dense foods. So yeah like avocado- nutrient dense but also calorie dense. So just be smart about which foods you want to have more of because ultimately volume is what will give you satiety. A lot of people get turned off or give up mid way counting calories esp those who want to lose weight because the sheer volume of of food they can eat is substantially limited and therefore will not fill them up. Either take out the avocado completely or replace the olive oil in the dressing with avocado oil and you’ll get the same fatty acid profile; in fact more so because it’s just pure oil. And yes like you mentioned: up the veggie intake! Especially leafy greens and those in the cruciferous family. Almost nothing calorie-wise but so nutrient dense and full of fibre. And just to highlight again here if you’re cutting/trying to lose fat: regular potatoes are actually lower in calories than sweet potatoes for the same amount. Yes, sweet potatoes are more nutrient dense but they are also more calorie dense. Much love, Laura and to all those who follow you xx

This is brilliant a real eye opener and yet very obvious but we all forget!
Instead of salad dressing, you can add fresh lime or lemon juice and a bit of salt to your salad. It tastes fantastic and saves you the calories.
