   Nice. But sadly, no fire pit. Stuck with using baking soda and vinegar with a scouring pad but I very much like this option as well.

   I just completed removing a burner eye completely covered by hardened on plastic from a melted storage container. Total time invested, maybe 10 minutes total. I just took a glass pie plate and placed the element upside down (flat side down) and added enough water to cover the element, placed it in the microwave, bringing to a full boil, which softened the plastic. I immediately peeled off the plastic with a sharp utensil and finished with a scouring pad and viola! Good as new! Outdoor fire pit optional, if maybe you wanna throw on some burgers., otherwise not required.
