this is great I had my pressure cooker for a year before I decided to stop being afraid of it . I have only canned tomatoes and diff pickles so far.I want to do more also need a dehydrator . Good job!
@sookiegirl97381 Thanks Suga 🙂
@MYBIOHAZARD Hi, It honestly depends on what it is you have canned and how you canned it. All low acid foods are pressure cooked..ie..meats, soup, stock, beans, ect. They say 1 to 2 years..BUT! I have seen it last a lot longer than that. Proper storage greatly increases shelf life..cool dark room basically. Also using the freshest produce helps too. Pickled items last a lot longer. Once you learn this dying art you will be hooked! The best thing to do is HAVE FUN with it!!b Blessings! Vickie
Im planning to prep. how many years is the jar stored food good for. are we talking a decade or so?
@PoorMansNews Thanks Bret..It seems like a never ending ..never ending…but it's worth it!
@BexarPrepper Thanks Darlin', You are the one who got me started on the canning and soap making. Because of you I started on the pressure canner first. My Aunt and sister in law was scared because of all the horror stories about them from the 50's and 60's. I actually ended up teaching them how to use it. They had been water bath canning for eons. I sat them down to watch you and now we all can EVERYTHING!! Much Love and Many Blessings to you! and A big HUG from Oregon to Texas!! Vickie
I agree not to live in fear that is what they want us to do. Great job on the salsa contest. You have done an amazing job hopefully others will see this video and realize just how quickly it can grow. Keep going 🙂 Blessings!
@pfizzbones yea you! we are in the midst of somthing great. Somthing we have never experianced before. The only thing we can do is get ready!! Blessings! Vickie
@goosearrow LOL…you might be sorry. I could go on forever about what pisses me off when it comes to our backward government officials, and sweety that would just be the start of my long list of subjects!!! Much Love and Many Blessings!!, Vickie
Great job sister! You are motivating me to get busy. I would have loved to hear the rest of your rant. LOL
@lauriegirl2 That is awsome!!!! I just commented to a miss from Australia about how women think with their emotions..we learn over the years to trust our gut even if we dont understand why..and then once we decide to follow our 6th sence we realize what it was all for..I will check out your channel sweety. Thanks for the invite!! Blessings, Vickie
@brisbanewebservices Hello Australia!!! I have always wanted to visit your country..but the price and length of the flight is awful from where I am. It is strange how women feel first is'nt it? Men are thinkers. Give them a math problem or somthing to build and they are very focused..women on the other hand are multi taskers..able to do 20 things at once but never metodically thinking about any one thing. But, when it comes to sencing things we are on it! We think with our emotions! Blessings!!
Wow, great job. I started in January last year and like you now have over a year's food stored a lot of which I canned myself. I too, heard the inner voice telling me to prepare. For what I don't know but like I told my husband today, it doesn't really matter what because we are more prepared than all of my friends and neighbors. Come on over to my channel and check out my food storage and gardening videos.
Wow! That looks great! I can tell how hard you worked. I especially like the barriers on the front of your shelves. Super smart! I have them on my shelves too.
I think you had a lot of fun doing all of this. Its amazing how much food and supplies we would need for just 6 months. The blessing now is you don't HAVE to go to the store if you really don't want to. You can use the time for your family. Great job! a little wavy, but thumbs up
