I just want to share something I do with my mixer. I noticed at the end of this video that you were cleaning the Vitamix with water to soak. I don't know, you may already do this. I put a little dish soap in mine with the water. Then turn it on and the blades get cleaned really well. The you rinse it and wash like you normally would but it comes out really clean. Nothing is ever stuck in the bottom or on the blades.
Thank you for your reply. I hope I can get a Vitamix myself some time. My husband isn't interested in fruits and vegetables . My blender isn't that good on my Bosch. Does this company ship to other countries? I'm from Canada .
I am wondering if you have to replace the blades in the Vitamix. . How often?

Hi Miss Phyllis thank you so much for showing how to make these cubes. Such a wonderful idea. I was cutting up my veggies and fruits and made packs with something if everything in freezer bags. This looks much better. I was wondering do you grind all fruits and veggies raw, or do u cook them also? Also, have you ever used cactus in your smoothies? It's really good. My Grandma makes it with apples and/or some pineapple. Just an idea for you.
Thankyou Miss Phyllis for showing how to make the carrot, barley and date cubes! I have incorporated some of your excellent ideas and it's working out great! Plus I'm not throwing away spoiled food now that I'm freezing things like bananas… I also wash & clean strawberries & blueberries then put them in a zip lock bag to freeze for the smoothies… Also added a heaping tablespoon of ground flax. The other day I threw turmeric in & you can't even taste it… I'm thinking I will add other spices like nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamom.. I hope Mr Bucky loved that refreshing carrot apple date juice treat! 😊
Put Ice Cubes, a little dish soap, tablespoon of course salt (or regular) and a tiny bit of water in your vita mix and run it. It'll clean it right up.
How cool. I love barley and carrot cake is one of my favourite cakes. Can't wait Phyllis. Hoping you can one day make a zucchini and nut loaf low fat please.
I made my first smooothie cubes last night. Spinach and Kale 🙂 I have a whimpy little personal sized blender that I use to make my morning smoothies, it has a heck of a time with greens, so I whizzed them up in the big blender and froze them. I put a few in the smoothie cup before I go to bed and they're nicely thawed when I wake up in the morning. I've also frozen shredded carrots. Neither of my blenders can get carrots smooth enough for a smoothie unless I shred them first.
Smoothie cubes are awesome and make making a smoothie a whole lot simpler.
Have you ever tried Hominy corn? when i was little my grandmother use to cook hominy and then serve it in hot milk, with butter, salt and pepper. It was yummy. Probably not the healthiest way to eat my veggies, but i am sure my friends would never have been caught dead eating hominy corn. ;D Also, have you ever made a green tomato pie? Something else my grandmother use to make. I loved it! I use to tell my friends it tasted like apple pie, that was a lie. It has it's own taste. today my teenager likes some of the same things i grew up on. ;D Next month we get our vitamix! I can NOT way to start having green smoothies! You are indeed an inspiration to all of us!! love your videos!!
I love Barley..not thought about adding it to smoothies…..I always add it to Chicken and Vegetable soup. Will definitely give it a try.
