Wa = Japanese, Gyu = Beef, and Kobe beef is the highest grade of Tajima beef in Kobe.Outside of Kobe prefecture,they called Tajima beef.
American Wagyu,not exist.
American Kobe,not exist.
American Tajima beef,exist.
Kobe is a trademark. Real Kobe is much different than American Wagyu. American Wagyu is crossbred with Angus. That's not the casein Kobe Japan. Real Kobe beef can be twice as old as American Wagyu. Call it what it is. With that being said I have no problem with quality of American Wagyu. It needs to be labeled properly on restaurant menus. Thanks for watching and commenting.

"Maine Lobster" is another term that is abused. "Gulf of Maine" is more accurate, but still there are lots of Canadian lobsters on the market. The good news is that both lobsters get a "Better Choice" from Seafood Watch. Unlike Alaskan vs Russian King Crab. Which is a huge problem in truth in menu labeling. you should check out exotic meat company in L.A. and Vegas. he's selling $4000 " kobe" steaks, which is odd since they import to anyone except macau, and japanese beef has been banned for 2 years
