For what's it's worth, we have noticed we can't have canola/walnuts/chia/flax because they thin the blood too much and make us shaky/dizzy/headache and sometimes even stomach pain/nausea/diarrhea…so we can't use can't balance, earth balance etc. I think this is a common thing that people don't catch on to. I've heard so many people have the same symptoms esp after canola oil…which has MORE that. The RDA for omega 3 in 1 tbs.
i know it's the youtube algorithm suggesting videos to me, but it feels like i've watched about 20 videos where UV mentions icecream, in the last week.. (to be clear: i'm not complaining. it's fun.).
it's been actually a week and a halaf, now, that i've been eating completely vegan, to my surprise. my intention was only to be flexitarian, and i still intend to do that. (i have some cheese that is going to go bad in the fridge, that i better finish). but there are a handful of vegans on youtube who are honest and unjudgemetnal enough to encourage me to continue with this reduced animal product diet that i've been doing.

Almonds and walnuts aren't even a good nut for keto, fairly higher carb for keto nuts. Pecans, and Brazil nuts (in moderation, like you said), are lower carb.
And 30 grams of net carbs is on the high side. 20 to 50 is the common range given for net carb content on keto, but while 50 net carbs is probably just fine for intense exercisers, 50 can kicks less active people out of ketosis, so 30 net carbs for someone who is more sedentary is probably pushing it.
Also, you really stopped the diet because of a slight bad taste in your mouth? Really?
I really hope you don't think your experience on keto is the typical one, because this was a pretty mediocre version of it, vegan or not.
Oh my gosh thats what that taste is? I had no idea that was part of ketosis 😭😭 i used to have that all. the. time. when i was undereating and i tried to describe it to people to figure out what was wrong but noone knew what i was talking about

To get into deep ketosis – would take at least a couple a weeks with vegan keto foods. To get into deep ketosis within 3 days – would need to do fasting mimicking diet = 1/2 large avocado with 1 packet amazing grass original greens powder for breakfast and dinner. While drinking up to a gallon water mixed with 1 teaspoon of sea salt.

Interesting to see you did this. Keto really isnt the best for most women, especially women getting pregnant and breastfeeding. This diet really should only be doctor prescribed for things like diabetes 2 and epilepsy and such.

I definitely agree keto is unnecessary without reason. I am on it currently on it but would not be if it wasn't for my trip to Australia next month. I am curious is you checked if you were in ketosis. Also how long were you on it? Were these early symptons? Within the first week?
What if you used banana instead of avocado in the chocolate confection? And add tahini for the fat and dates for sugar and use a blender. ???? Great ideas!
OMG I remember U from the Raw food days and your almost 811 life style. WHAT made U change?? I have also jumped into keto, was wonderful for a short while, BUT not working I have come to the conclusion that I Love all raw. I was SOLD on low carb and as U said it was EZ 2 do after coming off raw where we never ate those carbs and grains, Nice 2 seee U again U look Georgeous. Hugs & Blessings

I've had the opposite effect in ketosis, I'll have appetite suppression and then 3 weeks in I'll become hungry again.
Keto are only good for a period of time. For example if you wanna do a parasite treatment or beating cancer. It isn't bad in generell.

Why sucralose? Splenda raises your blood sugar. Stevia doesn't in most people

I've eaten white beans in a sauce that has honey marinad (typically used for chicken) and some oat cream and black pepper, with rice and boring side-greens, a couple times lately, and I find I have a craving for it now. (Similarly to what I used to have for honey-marinaded chicken. It turns out it was the sauce, not so much the chicken I loved.) And the beans are pre-cooked I think so they don't kill my stomach either and are just as easy to cook as anything small on the pan. And omg they taste so good in the sauce. I want to eat some right now but I'm at my parents' house and didn't bring my food with me… 😭
The beans are kind of a weird thing too, I suppose it's the protein that affects my hunger right away, but there are so little calories in them it's almost ridiculous, I didn't realize it initially and just ate a buch of chocolate for energy. 😂 And it doesn't do what meat does, the sort of tiredness that you could use a nap – it just satisfies your hunger – maybe the tiredness comes from the calories?
Anyway, how nice and surprising that is. Perhaps this means more and lighter meals could help with keeping up with my sleep cycle.

The reason people lose weight and body fat on keto is because they don't have insulin surges that things like bread, pasta, sugar, ect cause. It depends on your body type but for a lot of us those surges cause your body to store belly fat. I'm genetically predispositioned to have metabolic syndrome. So for me it works well.
I felt AMAZING on vegan keto, but spring came, and I saw a bunch of my fruits start coming into season. I couldn't pass that up. Then something odd happened, my body was only hungry for the fats, but absolutely not the carbs, beyond a few fruits. Problem is, the fruits I love are high carb, and not ok on keto. Acetone like the nail polish remover thats the taste n smell in your mouth. It's ur liver causing that. Eat more greens, and lemon is super important on keto. Lemon will help with any keto-acidosis. If you have that taste in your mouth then ur showing signs of it. Make sure to be using lots of pink Himalayan salt, or celtic salt, or sea salt. They have minerals in them that will keep your body from leaching electrolytes, and key minerals from your bones, and organs.
The weird taste in your mouth is most likely coming from the acetone you breathe out. This is a type of ketone body your body can't use for energy and therefore you breathe out. As long as you're in ketosis, you really couldn't do much about it unfortunately.
Popcorn will give you breast cancer. I haven't eaten any in more than 10 years and the thought of kernels stuck in my teeth and so much salt is disgusting, actually.
Wondering why you choose sucralose over stevia, if there are health benefits of sucralose? I use mostly stevia and monkfruit sweetener in my coffee but not sure if they are the healthiest choice.
I am currently 2 and half months on keto and I can totally agree that things get much sweeter. I personally don't mind it bc it makes my cravings much easier to cheat on. Like a prime example is I'm OBSESSED w watermelon sour patch kids and before I could easily have a big bag but since Ive been 2 plus months I can have 3 and honestly say I'm so satisfied bc it's so much sweeter and at least for me (even for things that aren't "sweets" it wasn't a bad added sweeteness it actually helped curb my cravings immensely). My appetite as well is definitely decreased, plus side note I had/have ibs and carbs are my main trigger so going keto has actually helped my life tremendously. My ibs is basically non-existent, bc prior I was getting very painful bloating from even just a bite of carbs, I'm not even exaggerating I was having difficulty eating and forcing myself a lot and just being painfully bloated or worse bloated and then having very unpleasant and multiple bathroom trips. Since then I actually can have a meal and if I have a large one I bloat but nothing anywhere near painful and definitely not even close to the bloating I used the experience.
I do have to say keto was an easy transition for me bc a lot of my diet was already keto friendly and since carbs generally make my stomach go insane it wasnt hard to have it become my normal diet. Especially bc I am mainly going this for weight loss ,which has been going extremely well, so far I'm down 20lbs, but so I had/have a lot of motivation especially bc I've been on a regular balanced restricted diet working out insanely everyday and I wasn't losing a single lb. So keto in one way was last resort but it also has been beneficial in so many ways. I'll admit I plan to slowly add more carbs back into my diet and have a balanced diet one day, but for now it's working great for me and I really love the new recipes I am trying. I am concerned about my salt and trans fat so I plan to do better research into what I'm eating and perhaps stopping altogether if I can't get healthy levels.
Funny enough my main reason for this comment was to say I have a DELICIOUS keto dessert that I fully love. It's cream cheese PB balls drizzled w dark chocolate, honestly my savors and one of the reasons I love it so much. So easy to make and even my friends and family who don't eat keto love them, especially sprinkle some coconut on them 👌👌
I tried Keto for 5 weeks. Honestly probably ate too much protein, but I did not have a good time with it. I felt progressively worse. The headaches only lasted a few days, but I just felt drained. I got tired of it and reintroduced some carbs such as sweet potatos and oatmeal. The upside is I dropped my sugar habit.

You should have tried for a longer period…adaptations needs at least a couple of weeks. it actually works very well for me (and I am and I was fit even on a hicarb)

I went on the real keto diet 1 year ago. It sucked. The amount of meat I needed to eat made me sick. I also find it kind of funny that I went vegan 6 months after that. Btw if you are going on the keto diet
vegan or notpeople that are on keto will downgrade how bad the keto flu is. When I got the flu, I was shaky, I had a headache and my stomach revolted. Morele of the story… don't go on keto.

That metallic taste in your mouth goes away after a period of time. I had it as well in the beginning. It was gone by the second week. I've now been doing Keto for nearly 3 months and my health has improved dramatically including losing around 40 pounds.
