Half and half bread recipe
2 cups of white flour
2 cups of brown or wholemeal flour
Or use four cups of whatever combination of flour you prefer.
2 tsp. of yeast
2 tsp. of brown sugar or whichever sugar you prefer.
1 1/2 cups of warm water.

never cut your bread out of the oven wait a half hour to cool and get your self an instant-read thermometer and bake until 200 degrees
I don't think the virigin olive oil is a problem into bread

The best way to test a loaf is by flipping it upside down and tapping on the bottom. If it sounds hollow itβs cooked, if it sounds dense itβs not. The way you tested is best for cakes and other baked goods π
I made it this afternoon. It's turned out great. I'm absolutely delighted with it. I'm on a plant based diet, no oil so I can't eat supermarket bread. This will be a great help in ensuring I consume enough calories. Thanks very much Mark.

Thanks for this just a question does it matter what size of cup ? I assume it doesn't as ratio would still be the same. Are you using tea cup or mugs ?

Your bread recipe sounds great! Do you think I could divide the dough in thirds, roll them into long strips and then braid the strips and bake without the water bath to half a softer crust. Basically, I am talking making a challah bread with your vegan recipe. Let me know what you think and I will also try making just as your video says. I love your videos and keep up the great work! Been making bread for awhile and i must say you have done a marvelous job and i look fiward to trying this bread
I wounder how many of you see the thing I do. and that is that its not true vegan. seen vegans do not believe in hurting living things other then vegies. well grans are bad for the human body and none organic flower is bad so consuming it its hurting a living thing your self. also in order to get white flower its bleached the bleaching agents ae very harmfull.
I don't want the crust so I will soften by brushing organic olive oil on top after done. I like it as an artisan bread. It's taking 15 minutes on the second side.
I put three cups of white flour with three quarter cup of coconut flower and followed the rest of the instructions, adding some Rosemary on top of the bread, then 12 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit is okay, but turning it facing backwards to get the other side completely baked, I will need to guess on the time. Bread being open and not in a container means less time for baking so I will assume another 12 minutes on the back side should do a total of 24 minutes instead of 35 minutes in a bread pan. It could take 15 minutes instead of 12 so I think I will go with that because my oven is old. It's easier to bake in a wood stove for me because you can control the heat with how much wood you put in the Firebox. I used to bake 8 loaves at a time for my family in my wood cook stove. I finally got Mastery over it. But it's been over 20 years. Thank you for this. I was following other recipes and only Rising for 35 minutes and it never . Thank God I only threw out two loaves before I got here. I like the Artisan bread much better and will continue on with different flours, hoping to one day be able to use coconut flour with arrowroot flower as the main ingredient without gluten. So far coconut flour is impossible and they State you only use half of what is called for with White flour to equal the same amount. I'll keep experimenting and thank you. And on heating up the oven with plastic wrap on it, the plastic wrap melted and I barely got it off. Maybe I should use parchment paper because that's what I'm using to bake on a pizza pan underneath the bread. Not a good idea to warm up the oven with plastic wrap on the top and I didn't think so but tried anyway. Live and learn. Now I noticed you didn't have the pan in the oven. The camera views are horrible. I certainly wish you would be more creative in your description. And because I have long-acting yeast requiring Refrigeration after open I put the water, warm, and added two teaspoons of chia seed, 2 teaspoons of yeast and 2 teaspoons of maple syrup and let it sit for 10 minutes and then added it to the dry mixture. The chia seeds work like an egg and the maple syrup, organic is the sugar to activate the yeast. 2 teaspoons of all additives. I would have added the Rosemary and Ginger in the yeast mixture if I had remembered. This is a combination of two recipes. So far it's looking great.
How well does it stay n where..? Fridge , counter wrapped..? Mine turn soggy after this method…

WHAT IS THE temperature (cel or fahrenheit) and time of cooking? Do we let it rise before baking or what?
I used a glass baking sheet and I guess I didn't think it through because as soon as I put water in it shattered everywhere. Now I can't make bread until it cools down and now I have glass everywhere agh DONT BE STUPID LIKE ME

If you cook the bread in the dutch oven and just spray the oven with some water after removing the lid 30 mins in…you get a great crusty bread
