Can we use cauliflower instead of tofu?
Just tried this, turned out pretty good! I wasn't sure how fine to grind my lupin flakes, and was careful not to turn it into dust. But I think the end product was a bit too grainy so next time, I will grind it finer. I popped the dough into the freezer for a few hours to make it easier to cut. For those wondering, you can cook these in an air fryer! I pre-heated mine at 400, put them in, sprayed with some avocado oil, and cooked for 8 minutes, shaking once halfway through. I made these tonight and they were pretty good! Iโm gonna see how they reheat tomorrow. I added a few drops mashed potato concentrate but everything else was the same. Are you on Instagram?
Forgot to mention, Chef's trick is when dough is done, I shape it into a few rectangle shapes, place in freezer for about two hours, it will make the slicing easy without issue if done correctly. I cut with a waffle style cutter for effect. Works great, can cook a full batch if oil is deeper in pan. Thanks :-]
Wow, I too make Keto Tofu fries similar to your recipe except to save on cost, I use TVP [Textured Vegetable Protein] instead of Lupin flakes coarsely ground. In fact, TVP is my go to for adding to make bread crumbs for frying, coating, candy making, added to cookies for crunch, etc. My Keto fries, I fry them in Peanut oil, add flavorings to the batter like garlic or onion powder [you can add any dry spice actually] and they come out great! I am a lifetime Diabetic so eating Keto style is not new to me. I enjoy your channel and thanks always for teaching and sharing! You are the BEST! Mike S.
