For the Cake
200 gms of refined flour
200 gms of sugar.
200 gms of Butter.
4 eggs
2 tbsp cocoa powder or dark chocolate melted in microwave.
Juice of 2 oranges.
Orange zest.
1heaped tsp of Baking Powder.
5 drops of Vanilla Essence.
For the Glaze
100 gm of fresh cream.
1/2 cup of rum.( Optional)
1tbsp of cocoa powder.
l/2 cup of castor or icing sugar
Some tips
The butter and egg should be at room temperature.
One egg should be incorporated each time in the batter .
Mix the batter in cut and fold method.
Never demould the cake when hot.
Always glaze the cake when the cake is at room temperature. The glaze should be warm.
