Burger King fries are better like their workers actually know how to cut the fries properly and they ain't soggy and Burger King's quicker at serving their food McDonald's it's like you got to wait so long just to get some s*** ass fries
let's make one thing clear. fries from Mc are not golden brown. There is no trace of brown because they are perfect, they taste like they smell, perfect. This type of fry can be achieved at home in only one frying set, if the potato is old enough, the material of the frying medium and the oil are high quality. Either way, the color is yellow orange. Stop saying golden BROWN. Brown is not that appetizing to the fries.
They aren't as good as they used to be. They changed the oil and it changed the taste and texture.
There is a wonderful episode of the Revisionist History podcast with Malcolm Gladwell that is about how McDonald's changed their fry oil, and how the research that led to it was wrong. McDonald's fries today are more unhealthy that they use canola oil. They even do a blind taste test with both kinds of fries.
What they didn't know then is that the beef tallow that they removed is actually healthier than any of the alternative options they have used since then. And they did it in response to a popular article written claiming that beef tallow was evil. So, you basically now have a McDonald's french fry that doesn't taste as good, is less healthy AND costs more to make than when they used beef tallow. Why do they still do it? Because the general public thinks canola oil is healthy. It's all about branding.

Once they stopped frying in beef tallow the fries lost their flavor, now you have to salt them and use lots of catsup to give them flavor.
I guess I'm in the minority that doesn't get the hype. They're good BUT DEFINITELY overrated!!
