Old Fashioned Oatmeal Pie
This is a very old recipe that came from a restaurant that closed many years ago. I’ve never heard of an Oatmeal Pie but this is delicious and I think you all will enjoy this change of pace pie. The original recipe is below. Enjoy!!

Grandma’s Oatmeal Pie
2 Tbs Flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white Karo syrup
1/2 cup butter melted
3/4 cup quick cooking oats
1 cup milk
1 cup coconut
1 tsp vanilla
1 unbaked pie shell
Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
other dried fruit (optional)
combine flour and sugar together and then proceed with directions
Beat eggs, sugars and syrup and butter for 2 to 3 minutes until fluffy. Then add oats and milk beat for a minute, add coconut and vanilla and pinch of cinnamon if you like. Bake at 425 for 10 minutes, lower heat to 375 and bake for another 45 minutes. I would bake it on lower third of oven to make sure bottom crust cooks.
This is not coconuty at all but I think you could leave it out if you do not like it but might add a little more oats maybe to off set the coconut. It might could use a touch of cinnamon and if you like oatmeal raisin cookies, you might like to add raisins or some other dried fruit. It has a light crunchy top with a creamy inside. enjoy!

You are a tweeter. Not what a tweeter has come to means today. You tweeted that recipe to make it your own. How about tweaking a little farther by roasting the oatmeal toa golden brown (let roasted oats cool by moving them to a cool bowl to room temperature ) before adding the oats to the mix.
Making this for Easter
Yum yum 😋
This is so interesting! I've never heard of an oatmeal pie. Well, I used to love oatmeal cream pies as a kid so I might like this. I've definitely got to tell my mom about it. She eats alot of oatmeal. Thanks for another awesome video Mrs. Linda!
I would like to try this with the coconut, raisins and chopped nuts! Another fine recipe. Thank you.
Sub to my channel please, Would like you in the family???
That’s a cute looking spatula! I love your videos because it’s plain ordinary cooking. No high faulting nonsense. Also there’s no bad language. Anybody can be safe learning to cook. Thank you.
Thank you Mrs. Linda for the recipe Grandma's oatmeal pie. I have been wanting a oatmeal pie recipe. Thanks to you I have one now. I love to hear you .And Mr. Sam talking. Both of you speak so softly. Got to make this pie. Got everything except the syrup. Both of you sweet people have a good day.
This is one I really want to try
It looks absolutely wonderful! I bet that would be a hit with my kids too.
I think i am going to steam the filling (without crust but in a buttered bowl ) and see how that turns out!
Looks very good Linda will have to try it I just tried your Hello Dolly pie it is to die for similar to 7-Layer cookies God bless
Your definitely not stupid! Great recipe and looks so great finished!
A Excellent Video.. Highly Recommended.. THank You Very Much For Sharing…
Oh I am going have to make this thank you and god bless you for share this
This pie may be good (I have yet to try it) but since it has more sugar than oatmeal, I think it would be more appropriate to call it a sugar pie.
make this pie with an oatmeal pie crust
Yummy! I had raisin pie last night at my friends, I really want to try and make this, thank you
Can you make an old fashioned Egg Custard… please
wheres our joke sam?
Sam always likes everything and thinks it's the best he ever had! 😉😉 He is delightful !
Sam is the best taste tester ever! He made me laugh out loud!
Hi Linda, I'd like to try this, but I was wondering, on your video you are putting in 1 stick of butter as "1 table spoon". Could you please clarify?
1 stick or 1 table spoon
looks good
LOOKS GOOD AS ALWAYS WILL BE TRYING THIS ONE TOO BUT FIRST MAKING ONE OF YOUR POUND CAKE MY FAMILY WANTS ANOTHER ONE AND YOU'RE IS THE BEST RECIPE THANKS AGAIN .
I'm definitely going to try this! It looks yummy!
such a sweet couple!
Piece of constructive criticism… Please have your ingredients measured and ready so you don't have to do it on camera and waste time.
my wife is american so we eat lots of oatmeal for breakfast, but i never tried this!!! what a great recipe, i will pass it on too her, thumbs up
Looks yummy! I have a suggestion. How about trying it with a quarter cup of maple syrup instead of all light corn syrup? I'd leave out the berries, myself, and I'd make sure to measure the dry ingredients with non liquid measuring cups. But thanks for sharing! 🙂
Made this pie yesterday. It was unbelievably good. Better with a little vanilla ice cream to cut the richness.
This is a favorite pie of our family, but we didn't put fruit or coconut in it. and it tasted like pecan pie without the nut. yum yum.
Looks great, just wondering how it would be if you added chocolate chips?
